David is a 73-year-old retired veteran living on a fixed income. Even though David is struggling with severe teeth infections, that does not stop David from keeping up with his 6-year-old granddaughter. Having volunteered to fight in Vietnam, taking care of his granddaughter is not even a challenge for this incredible patriot. David is generally happy and content with life and rarely asks for anything. His daughter Nicole describes David as the best man she knows, her absolute hero. She just wishes she can return the proud smile he deserves, and alleviate him of so much pain.
