Ken was happily married for 40 years. Attached at the hip, his wife and his dog Spud were all Ken needed to feel satisfied in life.
Unfortunately, Kens wife passed away, leaving Ken and Spud to grieve alone. While his wife was sick, Spud began to encounter illnesses of his own.
Many dogs grieve just like humans do, they can lick and scratch at themselves in distress causing more and more problems. After a few infections, Spud is looking a little worse for the wear. After Ken was able to pay the $35 for Spud to be seen, Ken learned that Spuds recovery would cost far more than Ken could manage.
It is estimated that Spuds vet bill could be around $900, money that Ken simply does not have.
Ken and his wife were already living on a strict budget before she passed, without her Ken is left with the absolute bare minimum he can survive with. Between groceries, toilet paper, soap, and gas. It is all adding up to a rough time.
Ken is a tough man, but we all have our limits.
That is why his step-daughter Charla wanted to make sure that Ken and Spud received some love this year.
Well thanks to Brooke Communication’s and Rogue Credit Union’s Wish Upon A Star Program, hope is right around the corner
We are happy to report that thanks to an incredible partnership with both For The Love of Paws an Red Barn Dispensary, spud’s vet bills are going to be completely taken care of.
We have also partnered with DC Farmers Co-Op to get Ken a generous gift card for fuel and whatever necessities he and his partner Spud may need.
Thanks to B&D Meats, Kens freezer and fridge will be well stocked for the winter.
Wish Upon A Star will also be providing Ken with a generous gift card to Walmart for anything else he may need.
Merry Christmas Ken!
