HERE IS TODAY’S WISH UPON A STAR…

It began with a sudden and frightening health scare—a heart condition that led Lynn to the hospital. In an unexpected turn, while showing signs of improvement, he endured a cardiac arrest. Miraculously, he was in the right place at the right time. The medical team swiftly responded, but Lynn’s body had endured 70 minutes without a heartbeat. It was a critical moment that would shape their lives.

Against daunting odds, Lynn’s body has been making strides. His brain, kidneys, liver—all are on the path to recovery. However, the road ahead remains long. Lynn’s currently in the ICU battling a lung infection, yet his spirit endures, and his sense of humor remains intact. His strength is matched only by his determination to overcome.

The next chapter in Lynn’s journey involves rehabilitation—a journey to relearn what once came naturally. Walking, everyday movements—everything needs to be rediscovered. There’s hope and uncertainty intertwined as they anticipate his transition to a facility in Portland—the sole option in Oregon for the specialized care he requires.

But amidst this uncertainty, there’s a beacon of light. Lynn’s story has resonated deeply within the community. Brooke Communications and Rogue Credit Union’s Wish Upon a Star Program, alongside compassionate partners, have stepped in and will transform their home into an accessible haven. Modifications like wider doorways, ramps, and a fully adapted bathroom are on the horizon.

This transformation is more than physical changes; it’s a symbol of solidarity. It speaks volumes about the profound impact Lynn has had as a state trooper and a beloved coach.
